Bridge Beats Brings Award-Winning Bands to the Riverfront June 24th!

Lincoln Financial Group presents: The Bishops & Dilemma

The next Bridge Beats free summer concert series presented by the City of Omaha Parks and Recreation department is June 24 at the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge Plaza with music by Dilemma and The Bishops, interactive chalk art and BBQ!

The Bishops is a six piece rocksteady and ska band from Omaha that has been entertaining since the early 90s. Their unique blend of early ska, rocksteady and vintage reggae has pleased crowds of all ages for over 20 years and earned them two Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards and five nominations.

Dilemma was formed in 2012 as part of the Blues Society of Omaha BluesEd program. They were recently nominated for an Omaha Entertainment and Arts Award for Best Blues. Dilemma has performed at local events and venues including New Generation Music Festival, In the Market for Blues, Jazz on the Green, Playing with Fire, Waiting Room, and Slowdown. Dilemma is well known for their impressive vocalists and powerful musicians. Members range in ages 15-18.

The “Chalk Walk” will feature local artists Kristin Pluhacek and Matt Seeley with the creation of large scale insects, flowers, and more. The interactive art will include something for everyone, from coloring book sections to free form areas, all coming together to celebrate the centennial for the National Park Service.

As always, the family-friendly concerts begin at 6:00pm and run until 9:30pm. Ox N Bull BBQ will once again have food for sale and Harney Street Tavern will have drinks available. Don’t forget your lawn chair or blanket, and bring plenty of water!
