Cajun River Tunes at Bridge Beats on August 19!

Lincoln Financial Group presents: The Prairie Gators

The final concert of the season brings Cajun swamp songs to the Mighty Mo’ Riverfront courtesy of Omaha’s own, The Prairie Gators. The summer series presented by the City of Omaha Parks and Recreation department and Lincoln Financial Group comes to a close on Friday, August 19 at the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge Plaza.

The Prairie Gators take you on an accordion-fueled virtual trip through Cajun country and French Louisiana music history. A typical Prairie Gators set stokes the fires of Cajun-zydeco-creole cultures, but is often prone to a bit of musical wandering itself, venturing into traditional folk, country, rockabilly and a slew of “train” songs….something for everybody! The “Chalk Walk” brought to you by the National Park Service will again feature local interactive artist Matt Seeley. Their creation of large scale insects, ocean life, flowers and more are a treat for the kids AND adults!

The family friendly concert begins at 6:00pm and runs until 9:00pm this week. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, blanket and a picnic basket – or enjoy food for sale available from Smokin’ Lefty’s food truck and drinks from Harney Street Tavern.
