We are nearing the end of summer but there’s still a couple Bridge Beats concerts remaining! The next event presented by Omaha Parks and Recreation is on Friday, August 5 with cover band Peace, Love, Etc., sidewalk chalk artists, and La Casa food truck.
Peace, Love, Etc. plays an energetic, danceable mix of classic pop/rock music by the likes of The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Bonnie Raitt, Janis Joplin, Melissa Etheridge, Carole King, Pretenders, Steve Winwood, Van Morrison, Santana, etc… Eclectic but accessible; instantly familiar yet not overplayed, the diverse set-list brings smiling recognition to the audience and draws them into the music and onto the dance floor and never lets go.
The “Chalk Walk” brought to you by the National Park Service will feature local interactive artist Kristin Pluhacek. Her creation of large scale insects, flowers, and more will keep the kids busy coloring and drawing all night!
Bridge Beats shows start at 6:00pm and run until 9:30pm at the base of the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge. Bring a lawn chair, blanket, and picnic basket - or enjoy food available from La Casa food trucks and drinks from Harney Street Tavern.
