Week 3 of the Free Riverfront Concert Series
(OMAHA, Neb. – July 7, 2015) – Party at the bridge this Friday night! Bridge Beats will be rockin’ for its third event of the summer bringing funk rock cover band Lee Bowes from Lincoln with Omaha’s own Matt Whipkey opening the show. The music will get you dancin’ and the stage presence will keep you watchin’!
Lee Bowes and his band is a party band playing a fun mix of rock, blues, funk and soul to get you dancing and singing along. If you threw Lenny Kravits, Elvis, The Black Keys and Hall & Oates in a blender, you’d end up with something that sounds a lot like Lee Bowes.
Matt Whipkey is an acclaimed singer songwriter and guitarist from Omaha. Having earned the Omaha Entertainment and Arts Award for artist and album of the year in 2013, Whipkey’s live band features some of the city’s finest. Matt Whipkey is a rock show pleasant for the ears AND the eyes with his energetic stage persona.
Bridge Beats shows are every other Friday night beginning June 12, and ending September 18 at the base of the pedestrian bridge on the Nebraska riverfront. The family friendly concerts begin at 6:00pm and run until 9:30pm. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, blanket and a picnic basket – or enjoy food for sale available by La Casa food truck and drinks from Harney Street Tavern.
